This barrette captures colors and textures of the summery Sargasso Sea. The dappled dark and light aqua colors were inspired by the undulating waves of the water's surface where the phytoplankton that nourishes seahorses and leafy sea dragons gives the water a green-blue hue. The clear splashes represent the flashes of light reflecting from the gentle waves. This piece was created with layers of dyed sand and glass fragments ncased in resin. The barrette measures 2.75 x 0.875 inches. The steel clip, which measures approximately 2.25 x 0.7 inches, features a gently curved split tongue to conform comfortably to the shape of your head.
